It's Not Always A Spouse or Partner

Steps of Recovery

My main motivation for coming to S-Anon was to find help and to learn how to deal with my husband's affairs and sexual acting out. I didn't realize that this program welcomed more than just partners or spouses of sexaholics. There are friends, siblings, cousins, employees, employers and parents just to name a few.

Sex addiction can affect anyone, anytime and anywhere. No one is safe from someone else's choices that negatively affect your life. There are also many S-Anon's who are also sex addicts. So many children are growing up with sex addiction in their lives at home, learning what a relationship is by the examples they live with. Once they start to have intimate relationships of their own, they don't know how.

Parents are finding out that their children are now coming forward as sex addicts in their adult years, claiming that they've had a problem since early adolescence. With technology growing more and more common in our children's lives, pornography and unhealthy behaviors are easily accessed on a 24/7 basis. This is creating a wave of children who are being hyper-sexualized before they even know how to multiply 10x10.

Through this program, we hope to help those parents of under-aged addicts learn how to help their children through the sea of addiction. How do you look at your child at 12 years old and think, they're an addict? Well it's absolutely true and it's tearing apart families all over the world.

It does not matter if you are a spouse, partner, friend, boss or parent, sexaholism has greatly affected your life. https://www.sa.org/solution/
